Dafna Kohen is the Director of the Health Analysis Division at Statistics Canada where she leads a team of researchers focusing on data development, analyses, and dissemination of policy relevant work in the area of health and social determinants of health. With longstanding expertise in the area of lifespan, child, and youth development, she has played a leadership role in data and informative analyses for child policies such as Canada’s National Child Care Agenda, and programs such as Canada’s Action Plan for Children, Head Start, and the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program. Recently, Dafna has been nominated as chair for UN committees on Child and Youth Statistics. Dr. Kohen holds degrees from Columbia University, University of British Columbia, McGill University, and McMaster University.
