Biography

Dr. Deshayne Fell is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa, and an Affiliate Investigator at the CHEO Research Institute. She earned her BSc in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto, MSc in Epidemiology from Dalhousie University, and PhD in Epidemiology from McGill University. Dr. Fell has worked in perinatal research, epidemiology, and surveillance in both academic and public health settings. She has extensive experience with the provincial birth registry in Ontario (BORN Ontario) and with using large health administrative datasets (e.g., ICES data holdings) for perinatal and pediatric epidemiologic research. Dr. Fell’s research focuses on infection and immunization during pregnancy and the relationship with health outcomes in mothers and babies.
