Biography
Dr. Shabib is an experienced obstetrician & Gynecologist who has devoted 40 years to continued learning, excelling and improving the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is very skilled in management of labor & delivery with one of the lowest Cesarean section rates among his peers. He teaches Operative Deliveries with the SOGC and wrote a chapter on this topic in Oxorn-Foote, “Human Labor & Birth.” 6th edition. He sees both obstetrical and gynecology patients in his practice.
Dr. Shabib is an engaged member of the department administratively. He has been closely involved in Quality Assurance committees in Obstetrics since 2007 and more recently, he has been involved with the Gynecology Quality Assurance committee.
As a faculty member & Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at University of Ottawa he is involved, on almost daily basis, in academic undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as clinical training for: Medical & Midwifery students, Ob/Gyn. & Family Medicine Residents & Fellows as well as Family Medicine practitioners & community based Obstetricians & Gynecologist. He was recognized by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2010, as the best clinical teacher at the Ottawa University.
