Biography

Before undertaking his anesthesiology career, Dr. Dupuis practiced general medicine from 1979 to 1981 on Baffin Island, Northern Canada. He then joined CUSO, a humanitarian oversea organization, and practiced medicine from 1982 to 1985 in Vanuatu, a small third-world country of the South Pacific. After his anesthesiology residency, he completed one year of fellowship in cardiac anesthesiology and one year of cardiology fellowship. He now practices anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He has been involved for many years in the anesthesia residency program and has contributed to many research projects. His research interests have been risk assessment and perioperative epidemiology in cardiac surgical patients.
