Biography

Dr. Jocelyne Chrétien Emmell is a clinical pharmacist, specialized in critical care, and is also the coordinator of the Programme de gestion de l’utilisation des antimicrobiens at the CISSS de l’Outaouais. A graduate of the University of Ottawa in Administration, she worked at the Federal Healthcare Partnership (FHP) in the development of the electronic health record. In 2005, while maintaining her work at FHP, she began working part-time at the CISSS de Gatineau. She then put her clinical and administrative knowledge to work by managing the multidisciplinary project for medication reconciliation for each patient at Hôpital Montfort. In 2012, she became the operational coordinator of the Pharmacy Department at the CISSS de l'Outaouais and then assumed responsibility for the Programme de gestion de l’utilisation des antimicrobiens.

Dr. Chrétien Emmell has been working with the francophone community in Ontario for many years to improve French language education. She was a member of the Comité consultatif pour le programme de technique en pharmacieat Cité Collégiale and served as Chair from 2010 to 2012. A committed professional, she now continues her involvement with pharmacy students and residents by working as a clinical practice supervisor.

Research Projects

Dr. Chrétien Emmell is currently working on a study of the use and pharmacokinetic monitoring of vancomycin in the adult population treated at the CISSS de l'Outaouais.
