Biography
Dr. Schachter completed medical school and an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Ottawa, and a post-graduate fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) at the University of Toronto. She established the URPS post-graduate fellowship training program at University of Ottawa and served as its first Program Director for 10 years. She has also served on the SOGC subcommittee for URPS and contributed to the creation of national guidelines. In over 20 years of experience managing women’s pelvic health, she developed particular interests in novel minimally invasive surgical techniques, surgical decision-making, and physician wellness. She currently serves as Chair of the Obsetrics and Gynecology Residency Wellness Committee.
