Biography
Dr. Amaro graduated medical school in 2001 from the University of Calgary, and then pursued her Residency in Family/Emergency Medicine at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. Before joining The Ottawa Hospital (TOH), she worked in several community hospitals across Ontario, doing both clinical work and Emergency Medicine Ultrasound teaching. Dr. Amaro is currently an Assistant Professor with the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine, and an Attending Staff Physician with TOH’s Department of Emergency Medicine. In addition to her clinical duties, her area of interest is Emergency Department Ultrasound. When she’s not in the ER, she enjoys Whitewater Canoe, Crossfit, guitar, and running along Ottawa’s scenic pathways.
