Biography
Dr. Marlise Santos is an associate professor with the Department of Radiology at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Santos is part of the neuroradiology and neuro-interventional sections at The Ottawa Hospital and practices diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology. Dr. Santos has been the principal investigator for several studies endorsed by The Ottawa Hospital and the Brain and Mind Research Institutes. She was the recipient of the Best Radiology Teacher Award for the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Medicine Undergraduate Medical Education program in 2012, and The Ottawa Hospital’s Patient Safety Star Award in 2014. In 2018, Dr. Santos completed a Masters of Public Health and Clinical Epidemiology from Harvard University.
Clinical expertise: Acute stroke; neuro-angiography; endovascular surgery of brain, head & neck & spinal vascular lesions (i.e., arteriovenous malformation, dural fistula, aneurysm, dissection, vasospasm, etc.); percutaneous sclerotherapy of vascular malformations or "angiomas"; embolization of head & neck & spine or ENT vascular tumors (pre-operative embolization, intralesional chemotherapy); ENT imaging; Neuro CT/MRI.
