Biography
Dr. Nathalie Fleming is a General Ob/Gyn in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Newborn Care at The Ottawa Hospital. She is a Full Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Ottawa. Furthermore, she is Chief of the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Division at CHEO. Dr. Fleming was recently appointed Medical Director of Physician Health and Wellness at The Ottawa Hospital; in addition, she is affiliated with the OHRI (Ottawa Hospital Research Institute) and CHEO RI (CHEO Research Institute) as a Clinical Investigator.
She received her medical degree (1995) and her Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2000) from the University of Ottawa. Since completing a Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) at l’Université de Montréal in 2001, she developed and implemented a comprehensive clinical and academic PAG Program within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Nathalie Fleming enjoys her Ob/Gyn clinical practice as well as her academic positions tremendously. Her special interests include clinical management, medical education and research in pediatric and adolescent gynecology and adolescent obstetrics. Dr. Fleming is the recipient of numerous clinical and leadership awards such as SOGC Regional Achievement Award (2019), the prestigious Minister’s Medal Honouring Excellence in Quality and Safety and the ‘Best Innovation in System Coordination’ Award for her leadership in establishing an innovative Multidisciplinary Outreach Adolescent Obstetrics Program (2013).
