Biography
Dr. Rebecca Hibbert is an abdominal radiologist at The Ottawa Hospital and Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Ottawa.
She completed her residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Ottawa and fellowship in Cross-sectional Imaging at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA. In addition to her diagnostic work in abdominal imaging, her areas of clinical expertise also include image-guided non-vascular interventions and treatment of tumours with thermal ablation.
Dr. Hibbert is passionate about Teaching & Education. She served as Associate Program Director and then subsequently as Program Director of the University of Ottawa's Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program from 2013-2020, a program recognized in 2020 by PARO (Professional Association of Residents of Ontario) for its excellence in consistently providing a positive and rewarding experience to residents, while producing physicians who are expertly trained to care for their patients. She co-directed the National Radiology Residency Review course held annually in Ottawa for many years. Furthermore, driven by her interest in competency-based medical education and simulation training, she developed Canada's first comprehensive Simulation Curriculum in Radiology, which has benefited countless trainees during their residency training at the University of Ottawa.
