Biography
Dr. Gofton is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma and arthroplasty. He completed his Master’s of Education with a health specialization in 2006 at OISE (University of Toronto). His research interests include the use of simulation to improve surgical training and the assessment of competency. Dr. Gofton is an AIME senior research associate and director of the Department of Surgery surgical education research fellowship. He works closely with a number of surgeons in the Department of Surgery in an effort to improve surgical education. At present he is working on a number of projects focused on the assessment of competency both within and outside of the operating room.
