The objective of the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) Fellowship in Simulation is to develop enhanced skills as a clinician teacher with expertise in simulation-based medical education and Crisis Resource Management (CRM).

Description

The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) Fellowship in Simulation is a joint offering between the DEM and the Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CiMED).

Fellows participate in the Foundational Elements of Applied Simulation Theory (FEAST) course; a special series of small group sessions that aim to foster a solid grounding in the theory and practice of simulation via interactive teaching on simulation in education, research in simulation and effective instruction and design. FEAST prepares a health care clinician for a career as simulation instructor and educator.

Practical experience in Simulation Education is then achieved via participation in simulation related teaching activities with the DEM.

FEAST is accredited through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
