Nomination requirements and process:  

Nomination package requirements for Educator of the Year awards:

  • A letter of nomination (max. 7500 characters including spaces) that clearly describes the candidate’s pedagogic contributions and outstanding teaching record, touching on as many of the selection criteria as possible.
  • *The nominee's CV, includine career interruptions such as leaves, COVID-19 related delays, etc.
  • Optional: Endorsement letters from learners
  • A self-identification questionnaire (the Awards Office will send the nominee a link to this questionnaire).

*If the CV cannot be obtained by the nominator, the nominee must submit them directly to the Awards Office at [email protected].

Nomination package requirements for Mentor of the Year awards:

  • A letter of nomination (max. 7500 characters including spaces) describing the candidate’s contributions to the mentorship of learners and junior faculty, touching on as many of the selection criterie as possible.
  • *The nominee's CV, includine career interruptions such as leaves, COVID-19 related delays, etc.
  • Optional: Endorsement letters from learners
  • A self-identification questionnaire (the Awards Office will send the nominee a link to this questionnaire).

*If the CV cannot be obtained by the nominator, the nominee must submit them directly to the Awards Office at [email protected].

Nomination process for Educator of the Year and Mentor of the Year categories:

Candidates must be nominated by faculty members, support staff, or learners in the Faculty of Medicine. Chairs, the Dean and Vice-Deans may also propose nominations.
