These awards are presented to faculty members who have earned distinction for themselves and for the University or who have gone above and beyond in their roles.
The 2025 competition will be launched mid-April and nomination will be accepted until early/mid-June. The exact dates will be announced in winter 2025.
New in 2025:
- Teaching/course evaluations will no longer be a requested component of nomination packages for the Educator of the Year categories.
- Nomination letters are now limited to 7500 characters limit (including spaces) instead of two pages.
- The instructions more clearly state that Faculty of Medicine support staff can submit nominations for most categories, in addition to the other groups who may submit nominators. See the Nomination Process sections for more information.
Information common to all award categories:
Eligibility: Part-time and full-time regular and clinical members of the Faculty of Medicine, in any rank (lecturers and adjunct, assistant, associate, full and emeritus professors) may be nominated. Most awards (other than the Early-Career Researcher awards) can be granted at any point in a career, but cannot be won by the same individual more than once in a seven (7) year period.

Selection process: The Selection Committee is chaired by the Director of Awards and is composed of departmental and learner representatives. The Committee’s selection is then presented to the Faculty of Medicine Executive Leadership Team for final approval.
Successful candidates will be notified by email. They will be asked to provide a headshot/photo for the website, as well as a short bio.
Award: The laureates will receive a trophy and certificate at the Faculty of Medicine Awards and Recognition gala in November.
