Icanbewell.ca empowers the public to take charge of their health with real-time information. It is an inclusive, free resource for all genders, providing personalized preventive information. Users can instantly access research-based information and interactive tools. For example, there are links to physical activity videos, nutrition advice and questionnaires to assess your risk of cancer or heart disease.
Health care providers will save time by accessing a central repository of the latest Canadian guidelines and referring patients to evidence-based tools.

Most health care dollars are spent on curing disease, yet most illnesses can be prevented. By using icanbewell.ca the public will have the latest trusted information to stay healthy, right at their fingertips.  Mental health, sleep and social resources are included. Health care professionals will empower the public and save time by recommending icanbewell.ca as a reliable resource for preventive health. The information designed for the public and health care providers is available to all users.

The webapp was developed by Dr. Cleo Mavriplis, the Faculty of Engineering and collaborators (PDF, 127 KB), thanks to a DFM PRIME grant. The app was presented at the AFHTO (Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario) conference in 2021 and was chosen as an important innovation for the podcast: Healthcare Changemakers (listen to the episode).
