The White Coat Ceremony is a meaningful, annual Faculty of Medicine tradition at the University of Ottawa. As of fall 2024, our newly admitted PhD students will embark on their journey to become a scientist in the presence of the members of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, our colleagues, family, and the community.
During the ceremony, the students will be asked to swear an oath of professionalism and each PhD student will be presented with a white coat marking their entry into their PhD program and as a symbol of the high standards of professionalism expected as a student and throughout their careers.
Selected uOttawa staff, professors, and students will receive an invitation to join us, for this event.
The ceremony will be streamed via YouTube.
