A student is expected to:
- choose a program of study best suited to their personal goals and capacities;
- become familiar with the specific requirements for their degree;
- be familiar with, and respect important academic dates, academic regulations, and procedures;
- ensure that the courses chosen meet program requirements and the requirements for graduation;
- ensure that prerequisite(s) are completed and that there are no scheduling conflicts for the chosen courses;
- meet all the deadlines set forth by the University (University Calendar) and Faculty of Medicine;
- enrol, re-enrol, or withdraw prior to the published closing dates;
- register for each term in which you intend to take courses or pursue research for credit
- maintain registration once work has begun on continuing activity (the thesis, or major research paper/project) until all related requirements are complete
- attend classes;
- consult academic advisors, whose role is to help students reach their academic goals and to provide guidance in the interpretation of academic regulations and program requirements;
- consult with Access Services in order to make any necessary accommodations for special needs based on established policies;
- convey any change of status (e.g. illness, withdrawal, etc) to the proper authority (e.g. chair or program director) as soon as possible;
- regularly consult their email at the address assigned (@uOttawa.ca), which the University will use in all communications with students; regularly consult uoZone to confirm enrolment, final grades and grade reports produced at the end of each term;
