Dear Professors,

You are cordially invited to attend our FREE virtual workshop entitled "Translating Science into Real-World Applications via Cross-Sector Collaboration," which will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am EST on August 31, 2021.

This workshop is co-organized by the international, non-profit Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI) and the University of Ottawa (uOttawa)–Carleton University joint Chemical and Environmental Toxicology (CET) program.

At this event, you will have the opportunity to:

Learn about HESI, a non-profit organization with the mission of collaboratively identifying and helping to resolve global health and environmental challenges by engaging scientists from across sectors;

Hear from prominent scientists who have been engaged in HESI activities about projects they have been involved with and the impact of their participation on their research programs and professional careers; and

 Discuss with HESI staff and speakers from uOttawa, Carleton University, and Health Canada about ways in which you can participate in HESI’s collaborative efforts that are relevant to your areas of research.

This unique event will showcase opportunities to broaden your scientific network, grow your career, and gain new insights into real-world applications of natural and physical sciences to protect human health and the environment. You will learn about how to participate in existing HESI programs or explore new topical areas with HESI and its hundreds of collaborators around the world. We will discuss our shared interests of fostering collaboration across sectors to translate scientific research into impactful human and environmental health protection practices. We hope you will join us!
