The Government of Canada has launched an open selection process to fill current and upcoming vacancies on the National Research Council’s Governing Council.

The NRC is governed by a Governing Council which consists of the President, the Chairperson, and not more than 10 other members. The Council’s role is to provide strategic advice to the President and senior management. Specifically, members advise on strategic direction for the organization, review annual budgets and financial statements as well as advise on the appointment of senior officers.

Further information on the new Governor in Council appointment policy and the National Research Council members selection process can be found on the government’s GIC appointments website. Interested candidates must apply online by May 25, 2021.
