Doors Open Ottawa is an annual event that gives members of the community access to buildings they might not otherwise have a chance to see.

On Sunday, June 2, 2019 members of the public are invited to the uOttawa Faculty of Medicine for Doors Open Ottawa. A variety of 30-minute tours and workshops will take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., giving guests a taste of life at Ottawa’s only Faculty of Medicine.

While exploring the hallways of Roger Guindon Hall, you might learn how yeast is a supermodel of biomedical research; get to know some of the genomics and stem cell research taking place in your own backyard; and meet the scientists investigating ticks and Lyme disease in our city parks. These are just a few examples of our work that will be on display!

Doors Open Ottawa is an annual event that gives members of the community access to buildings they might not otherwise have a chance to see. In addition to tours at the Faculty of Medicine, our visitors will be treated to interactive demonstrations (in French and English), information booths, and activities for children.  Two MD students will also be on hand to answer questions for anyone curious about applying to medical school and training to become a doctor.

All members of the public are welcome to attend. This event is also a great way for our own Faculty of Medicine community to share their work with friends and family. It is also a chance for prospective students to learn more about our programs.
