University of Ottawa Translational and Molecular Medicine (TMM) student Keshav Goel strives to get youth engaged in their community. He is co-founder of a national organization called Helping Hands - Driven By Youth, a youth-led organization that regularly hosts philanthropic events, a soup kitchen, clothing drives and large fundraisers. Through his work, Goel bridges the gap between today's youth and community service and has inspired countless youth to cause social change.
On November 14, Goel will be presented with the Outstanding Youth Philanthropist award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Ottawa at its annual Philanthropy Awards. This honour recognizes young people under the age of 25 who demonstrates leadership in community service.
A 3rd year student in the TMM program at the uOttawa Faculty of Medicine, Goel aspires to serve others through a career in medicine. The Association took particular notice of his leadership, research, volunteer and academic excellence, with community service and fundraising at the core of his values and character.
The Faculty is proud to have community-minded individuals like Keshav Goel in its midst who are striving for medical, scientific, and social excellence. Congratulations, Keshav!
