Welcome to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training page. At the University of Ottawa, we are pleased to offer a subspecialty training program that has been accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Application process
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Training Program has the capacity to accommodate up to two residents per year. Applicants will be applying to this program for their PGY5 and PGY6 training years and we welcome applications from other universities.

The Specialty Training Requirements (STR) document provides a good overview of training opportunities and requirements for a career in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

- The first offer of acceptance will be sent: October 24, 2024, at 14:00 EST
- Deadline for candidates to accept/decline the first offer of acceptance: October 29, 2024, at 12:00 pm EST
Late applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please send the Psychiatry Subspecialties Common Application Form (PDF, 312.5 KB), A letter of intent, 3 letters of reference, an updated CV, Letter of “Good Standing” from your current Program Director, ITERS/ITARS to date if applicable to our Program Administrator (Johanne Ricard – [email protected]).
