For each facility, a core Director and user committee has been appointed to ensure accountability and optimal use. Over the past 10 years, our core facilities have done a tremendous job of promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, keeping the research community at the cutting edge of research infrastructure and emerging technologies, and training faculty, students, and staff.
The Faculty of Medicine, with support from affiliated hospital-based research institutes and the University of Ottawa, has developed 15 cutting-edge core facilities which bring together state-of-the-art equipment, instrumentation, methodologies and expertise crucial to the success of basic and clinical research activities. These facilities are accessible to all researchers across the University of Ottawa as well as to outside communities on a fee-for-service basis.
