Biography

Dr. Sandy Tse received her medical degree at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 1990. She completed her pediatrics residency training at the University of Alberta and her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). She joined CHEO full time in 1997. Dr. Tse was cross-appointed to the uOttawa Faculty of Medicine’s Division of Emergency Medicine in 2011.  She completed the Health Education Scholars Program as part of the Department of Innovation in Medical Education at the University of Ottawa, and continues to have an active interest in pursuing scholarship in the field of medical education.  She currently is the Associate Medical Director for the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine with a clinical interest in emergency department flow dynamics, process improvement and patient satisfaction.  In addition, she is the Competency Based Medical Education Lead for the Department of Pediatrics with the active role of change management for the Residency Program as it moves toward the new standards of evaluation.  She is also the Chair of the Accreditation Committee at the level of the Postgraduate Medical Education, helping to support all of the Faculty of Medicine programs to meet the New CanERA Standards of Residency Training.
