In systematic’s, Dr. Chapleau’s research program has two central objectives: i) the elaboration of cladistic hypotheses of relationships at the species level in a highly valued, heavily exploited and specious group of ground fishes, the Pleuronectiformes or flatfishes and ii) a comparative study of flatfish life history traits within a phylogenetic perspective. In ecology, Dr. Chapleau is interested in local fresh water fish communities and populations.
