Biography

How do animals and humans manage energy reserves? We investigate how metabolic fuel selection is regulated to cope with prolonged exercise, shivering, fasting and hypoxia. Current research focuses on adaptations for: 1) long-distance migration in shorebirds and salmonids, and 2) cold tolerance in birds and mammals.
