From Dentistry to PhD – An Unexpected Journey
Anna Ampaw unexpected transition towards a PhD began with a rejection letter from a dental school. Unwilling to give up on her dream, Anna pursued a master’s degree solely to better her chances of getting into dentistry.

Yulong Wei – a uOttawa alumnus who earned his MSc and PhD in bioinformatics under the supervision of Professor Xuhua Xia – made HIV the primary focus of his postdoctoral research at Yale University.
