Computerized numerical control machining (CNC)

The machine shop offers CNC machining services that can be derived from your technical drawings from most CAD softwares, or we can develop drawings from your original concepts. Depending on your needs, from a single part to a small to medium production batch, the actual product can be produced through our state-of-the-art computer assisted machining software (Mastercam) and CNC Milling machine or turning lathe.

Sophisticated 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software has made CNC machining a cost competitive method for making parts in prototype or production quantities. The CNC process of producing a part from solid stock material has attributes of high quality, strength, functionality and smooth surfaces thus making machined parts generally superior to additive/layered manufacturing (3D printing) processes.

Welding

The machine shop offers a complete range of welding services. Our expertise includes orbital welding well as MIG, TIG, Spot and Oxy-acetylene welding capabilities, where one of our fine craftsmen can weld together the perfect piece with impeccable attention to detail.

• MIG Welding - High speed, accurate, high strength. For medium-high volume production welding. Aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel.
• TIG Welding - Low speed, extremely accurate, high strength; produces very presentable, high-quality weld. For low volume and/or precision parts made from stainless steel and aluminum. Best choice for parts used in high vacuum system, food industries where cleanliness or aesthetics are privileged.
• Spot Welding - Spot welding is a resistance welding process. This welding process is used primarily for welding two or more metal sheets together by applying pressure and heat from an electric current to the weld area.
• Orbital Welding –The orbital welding process can create high quality repeatable welds with the use of a computer, meaning that there is little need for intervention from a welding operator. The process is used for two main applications: tube-to-tube / pipe-to-pipe joining. Orbital welding is found in aerospace, carbon dating technologies, biotechnology, chemical engineering, food processing, pharmaceutical where extreme cleanliness and weld consistency is of utmost importance.
• Oxyacetylene brazing – Commonly called gas brazing, where an open flame is used to heat to metals to temperature where a filler material used for joining dissimilar metals like stainless/copper, brass/copper, stainless/brass.
