Knowledge Mobilization Excellence Award (KMb)

Hold a full-time academic position in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Unit heads and vice-deans are excluded.

Contribute to the research priorities of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

We encourage members of underrepresented groups in research to apply and self-identify (women, Indigenous, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, members of the LGBTQi2S+ community). As an equity measure, in the case of equally qualified applications, priority will be given to members of an underrepresented group.

• Relevance, importance, and clarity: KMb activities or products must be relevant to the targeted audiences, disseminate research in an understandable manner, and engage knowledge users to inform decisions and bring about meaningful changes in society.
• Impact, outcomes, and results: Demonstrate active participation of knowledge users and illustrate the impacts of KMb activities with qualitative or quantitative indicators.
• Innovation, creativity, and originality: The KMb approach, as well as the associated products and activities, must be distinguished by their innovative, creative, and original nature.

Each nomination file must include the following elements:

1. A presentation document written by the candidate (maximum 4 pages) describing their contributions to KMb, encompassing a wide range of activities related to the production and use of research results, such as synthesis, dissemination, transfer, knowledge exchange, or co-creation and production by researchers and knowledge users.
2. A curriculum vitae in OCGS format, including awards and distinctions, publications, invited conferences, grants and contracts, the number of current and past supervised students (undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, others), media presence, and participation in outreach and KMb activities.
3. A letter from the head of the school or department (maximum 2 pages) describing the candidate’s contributions to KMb activities and the growth of their unit and Faculty.

It should be addressed to the Dean, signed, and printed on letterhead.

The presentation document, curriculum vitae, and the letter from the head must be compiled into a PDF document and sent by email to [email protected]. In the absence of nominations, the Dean and Vice-Deans will propose nominations.
