Description

The last few weeks have seen dramatic developments regarding the the war of aggression in Ukraine, with the US decision to engage in bilateral talks with Russia and to suspend military aid to Ukraine, and Europe’s determination, with Canada, to work towards a durable peace in Ukraine and increase military spending.

The Ambassador’s talk will take a dynamic Q&A format with the host and the audience.

Yuliya Kovaliv was appointed Ukraine’s Ambassador to Canada shortly after the Russia’s full-scale invasion, in March 2022. She previously held the position of the Deputy Head of Office of the President of Ukraine in charge of economic policy development. She also served as the Deputy Chair of the Supervisory Board of National State-Owned oil and gas company Naftogaz of Ukraine.

The lecture will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11.30am-12.50pm in Room FSS 4004 (Faculty of Social Sciences Building, 120 University Private).
