Two workshops to hone your communication skills: Improve your conversations, transform your relationships with psychologist Julia Santo

The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) is offering two workshops to help you improve your ability to learn by addressing three aspects of communications: effective collaboration, assertiveness and managing anxiety in group settings.

Workshop objectives
- First workshop: Identify needs and explore a few basic theories to provide some context
- Second workshop: Intervention, communication and conflict resolution strategies, and practical examples of action
These workshops aim to develop skills that are key to your success, and which will bolster your self-esteem and help you feel more comfortable in daily conversations.
In short, these workshops will provide you with the tools and strategies you need to be more effective in your interactions with other members of the University community.

Julia Santo
Psychologist and APTPUO Professor at the University of Ottawa
Julia Santo offers psychological services to children, teens and young adults. Over the course of her enriching and varied career, she has specialized in various areas, including eating disorders, learning disorders, anxiety, attention and concentration disorder, intellectual efficiency and cognitive skills, as well as forensic psychology.
Thanks to her clinical and research experience, she often presents papers, supervises students and teaches the psychology of personality as a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa.
Although she is currently a member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec, the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, and the Canadian Psychological Association, Julia Santo completed her studies in France at the Université de médecine René Descartes (Paris V) and has over 15 years’ work experience. She has worked in both private and public institutions, and for the past three years, before arriving in the Outaouais, she worked in private practice.
