Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences moved forward in 2021-2022, despite all of the turbulence, friction and surprises that the world had in store. To match the resilience of our colleagues and their changing needs, we pivoted our funding programs to respond to the demands of our faculty, in particular, by redirecting unused competition funds for projects that were close to completion. We have also been fortunate to support a number of colleagues for prizes, chairs and awards.
I want to congratulate our colleagues for their continued success and their resilience in the face of the pandemic.
My thanks to Sophie for her sterling work supporting all our pre-award efforts. In this changing environment, the team at the VDR not only improved communication with our professors, but also contributed to University-wide efforts at making fund administration more efficient and transparent. My thanks to Charles and his team for working so hard and staying focused on professionalism and transparency.
We will continue our focus on professionalism in the year to come.
