The Faculty of Social Sciences wishes to congratulate its outstanding psychology doctoral students, Alex Castro, Karianne Dion, and Sommer Knight, on being awarded the prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.

The Vanier CGS program aims to attract and retain world-class doctoral students by supporting students who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high level of academic achievement in graduate studies in the natural sciences and engineering, social sciences and humanities or health sciences.

This prestigious three-year, $50,000 annual award will support the brilliant research of our students.

Indeed, our students are to be commended for the excellence and relevance of their research in psychology: Alex Castro's project on the use of transcranial magnetic stimulation, Karianne Dion's on cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia and Sommer Knight's on Black fatigue or burnout in the Black community.

The University of Ottawa wishes them all the best in their academic and professional careers.
