Alexandre Baril
At the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa, we proudly celebrate the recognition of our researchers who dedicate their work to fostering equity, inclusion, and social change.

Professor Alexandre Baril, from the School of Social Work, has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of his significant contributions to Canada through his academic research and service to marginalized communities. The medal was presented by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario during a special ceremony.

Professor Baril’s research, deeply rooted in issues of social justice, diversity, and inclusion, reflects the Faculty’s mission to better understand the world’s complexities and inspire meaningful social transformations.
