Professor Vincent Thivierge, newly appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and the Institute of the Environment has received funding from the Resilient Energy Economies Initiative for a project examining the economic and fiscal impacts of the energy transition in oil-refining communities, in collaboration with Professor Christopher Malloy (University of Oklahoma). An environmental economist specializing in climate and air pollution policies, Professor Thivierge focuses on the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of environmental regulations. He previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley and has worked with policy research institutes in Canada. His research has been cited by leading organizations, including the Bank of Canada, the California EPA, and the OECD.
