The Faculty of Social Sciences was proud to welcome back Raouf Farrah, an accomplished alumnus of the School of Development and Globalization, for a special Fireside Chat on bridging social science research and activism in complex contexts. Raouf Farrah has made significant strides in the fields of development and global studies since graduating from uOttawa. His work spans research, activism, and policy development, with a particular focus on addressing socio-political challenges in fragile and conflict-affected regions. Throughout his career, Farrah has been driven by a passion for leveraging research to create actionable change, making him an inspiring figure for students and academics alike.

During the Fireside Chat, Farrah shared his journey from being a student at the School of Development and Globalization to becoming a globally recognized expert. He discussed the practical application of social science research in advocacy and policy-making, highlighting how rigorous academic inquiry can inform sustainable development and peacebuilding efforts.
