The Department of Economics is delighted to share the exciting news that our recent graduates Charles Bromwich and Tania Chaar have been chosen as one of the four finalists in the annual Best Undergraduate Paper Award (BUPA) competition organized by the International Atlantic Economic Society.

Their paper “Measuring Labor Supply and Demand Shocks during COVID-19” was written under the supervision of Professor Lilia Karnizova in the context of the directed research course FSS 4150 in the winter term.

We are very proud of this achievement as the IAES “strives to recognize and reward outstanding research conducted by undergraduate students worldwide.” More information about the competition can be found on the IAES website.

The IAES has made a decision to hold the conference in a virtual format. The competition presentation will be held on October 9th

Stay tuned for the winners announcement!
