Dean Barham's mandate renewed!

Dean
Victoria Barham
We are pleased to announce that the Board of Governors has approved the renewal of Victoria Barham's mandate as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her new mandate will be for a period of five (5) years, from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2029.

During her first mandate, Dean Barham has been a strong advocate for students, administrative staff, and professors  in  the  Faculty  of  Social  Sciences.   She  is  recognized  as  an  ambitious,  passionate  and collaborative leader who is relentlessly strategic, open to difficult discussions and to forging consensus. Accomplishments   of   her   first   mandate   include   reinvigorating  the   research   enterprise,   expanding experiential  learning  opportunities,  increasing graduate  scholarships,  enhancing  international  student mobility, and introducing new mental health supports. Under Dean Barham’s leadership, the faculty has made significant progress in the areas of equity, diversity, and inclusive excellence, notably by fostering the  hiring  of  diverse  professors  and  staff,  and  by  making  substantial  investments  in  support  of decolonization, indigenization, and antiracism. Finally, Dean Barham has made important contributions to the university community, notably as a member of the Permanent Committee on Budget.
