A three-day course/hackathon-style competition challenges students to imagine, in teams, innovative ways to raise awareness of climate change.

Dates: March 22, 23 and 24, 2024
Location: Social Sciences Building, FSS
- The challenge will take place in English.
- Participants will be paired in teams of 4 or 5. The pairing will take place one week before the start of the activity.
- During the Challenge, teams will draw on expert input, as well as their knowledge and experience, to address a particular social challenge, which will be shared with participants on Friday.
- Participants will be enrolled in microcredit FSS 3302 (1.5 credits). To obtain the microcredit, participants will need to complete the pre-event readings (available on Brightspace from March 13) and a short survey by March 18th, be present for the entire Challenge, and present their project on Sunday. Grading will be based on S (satisfactory) or NS (unsatisfactory).
- The event will take place according to the following schedule:
- Friday, March 22, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, March 23, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Sunday, March 24, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Snacks will be provided throughout the weekend. Lunch will be provided on March 23 and 24.
Eligibility
- Participants must be students at the Faculty of Social Sciences and have completed at least 24 course units.
- Students must be able to be registered to the microcredit course FSS 3302 Specialized Workshop in Social Sciences, worth 1.5 course units. Grading will be on a S (satisfactory) or NS (non-satisfactory) basis.
- Part-time students are eligible to participate, but fees (for a micro-credit) will apply.
