Our commitment to you
The University of Ottawa takes a leading role in responsible investing by following the United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). We are committed to considering environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors when making investment decisions, while still aiming for good returns. Responsible investing involves looking at ESG criteria when deciding where to invest; this is also a sound practice when considering returns on investment since these factors can affect investment performance and overall economic value.
The Finance and Treasury Committee is responsible for deciding how to follow responsible investment principles by complying with industry best practices outlined by PRI. They focus on collaborating with other investors and engaging with companies to make positive changes on issues that involve ESG factors. This engagement is seen as the most effective way to bring about meaningful improvement.
