You can request that an electronic copy (PDF) of an article in a journal located in off-campus storage be emailed to you. This service is available free of charge to all University of Ottawa students, faculty and staff.
How to request an article

Find the journal.

Click "Library Availability" and then click on “Off-Campus Storage”. A new tab/window will open.

Confirm that the volume you need is available.

Click on "Request".
- Log in to your library account.
- Select “Article”.

Enter the article title, author's name, journal issue and date, page numbers (if known), and your email address.

Select the desired volume/issue.

Click "Request" to complete your request.
Requested articles are normally sent and available within 2 working days, Monday to Friday.
How to view an article
You will be notified by email when the article is ready. The email will contain the following:
- A link to a password-protected website.
- The password to access your article.
Once you log in to this website, click on “Get my file” to retrieve the article.
Your document file can be retrieved a maximum of 5 times with this single combination for a limited time of 30 days, whichever comes first.
