Description of the event

The Library is offering a three-day in-person writing retreat for full-time professors (tenured or tenure-track). This event consists of intensive writing sessions in a distraction-free environment in the company of other uOttawa professors. 

  • Coffee service and lunch are included as a courtesy
  • Interfaculty networking in a bilingual setting during lunch
  • The Communication Specialist will offer personalized writing coaching services
  • A training session on open publishing will be offered. Details to come.

*Participants must bring their own laptop and any other equipment they may require (headphones, keyboard, etc.).

Registration closes at 5 p.m. on October 4.

About the Communication Specialist

Monique Roy is a writer, editor and communications consultant who retired in 2022 as Director of Communications and Marketing for the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation at the University of Ottawa. Over a career in journalism and communications spanning 35 years, she has specialized in science communications. She was a senior editor at Canadian Geographic magazine for 24 years and has written and edited for numerous government departments and national organizations. She also served as a judge for the National Magazine Awards for many years.
