The Faculty of Social Sciences Library is accessible during the opening hours of the Social Sciences building.

Services

The library, situated on the second floor in Room 2010, brings expertise and services right to where students and faculty work. It offers services and rich, digital scholarly resources.

We can help students and faculty with:

  • Teaching activities via class presentations on improving search skills, accessing scholarly information resources, evaluating and citing information sources

  • Research activities, including assisting with comprehensive literature reviews, creating tools to aid in searching and alerts to keep up with an area of research, answering publications and open access questions, assisting with citation analysis and with building capacity in developing research data management plans

  • The use of government information, statistics and data resources in the social sciences
  • Four computers with a variety of software including SPSS, ArcGIS and NVivo

In addition, the library offers research seminars covering bibliographic management, effective search strategies, literature reviews, alerting services, publishing research, citation analysis and tracking, research data management and open access.
