Join us for an engaging author talk with Christian Guay-Poliquin, writer-in-residence and multi-award-winning novelist, whose works have been translated into twelve languages. This talk will enable you to discover the writing practices, sources of inspiration and models of this renowned author.
Celebrate Mois de la Francophonie with French Video Games!
Join us every Tuesday and Thursday in March from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. during the Digital Capacity drop-in program at CRX to play a different French game each session! In this event we will feature games created by French developers or inspired by French culture.

Mural art: the Francophonie on display at the Library
In September 2024, the uOttawa Library unveiled two new murals by Franco-Ontarian artist Mique Michelle, to mark Franco-Ontarian Day. Visit the Morisset Library to see these works in person, and check out all the French “Easter eggs!” on the “French Kiss” Mural.

“Trésors d’archives” a new French-language podcast
To mark the Mois de la Francophonie, the Library launched “Trésors d'archives”, a new podcast featuring French-language documents from our Archives and Special Collections. Discover rare, precious or unusual objects, with insights from archivists and specialists! These researchers explore the materiality, historical context and cultural impact of these documents, and explain how these archives support cutting-edge research in French at the University of Ottawa.
Explore the newly digitized French Manuscripts collection at the Archives and Special Collections
The French Manuscripts collection at the Archives and Special Collections has been fully digitized and will soon be accessible online in the Featured Collections section of the OMNI catalogue. You will be able to explore previously unpublished manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, and drawings from over 70 French authors of the 19th and 20th centuries, including George Sand, Jacques Baron, Jean Cocteau, Francis Picabia, Georges Ribemont-Dessaignes, along with numerous other poets and artists.
