Last year, I took a brief course about the ethics and handling of experimental animals. It was both practical and theoretical. Its objectives included:
1. To provide an adequate introduction to the use of laboratory animals to stimulate the responsible use of them.
2. To highlight the importance of using animals for research as well as ethical and regulatory considerations.

The main topics that this course covered were:
1. Use of animals in research
2. The 3R's principle for experimental animals.
3. Well-being and optimal environment of laboratory animals.
4. Strategies for the recognition of health, pain and diseases in laboratory animals.
5. Anatomical peculiarities in rodents.

My experience working with animals (Wistar rats) includes:
1. Administration of anesthetics (intraperitoneal injections).
2. Using of the Phototrombotic Lesion.
3. Using of the stereotaxic apparatus.
4. Dissection of rat brains.
5. Motor and behavioural test (beam balance test and forced swim test).
