Training included Institutional animal user training program (IAUTP) part one and two by Dr. Julie Lee-Yaw at the University of Lethbridge. Procedures taught in 2021 include:
1) Capture and restraint of amphibians
2) Performing euthanasia - very small larvae
Additional training in 2022 from Dr. Julie Lee-Yaw included the following procedures:
1) Tissue sampling: a) tail clips - adult and large larvae (salamanders); large larvae (frogs). b) toe clip - adult frogs/toads.
2) Administering anesthetics - adult salamanders and frogs
