Please indicate at which institution and the year this training was received University of Ottawa (Vanier ACVS); Received basic training in May 2021 and received intraperitoneal injection training in mice June 2021. I received both trainings from Julie Tremblay
Please provide a brief summary of this training and your experience working with animals As part of the basic training I received a tour of the ACVS centre at Vanier. I learned how to restrain mice and perform basic euthanasia with CO2 and then performing a cervical dislocation. As well, I received additional training on administering intraperitoneal injections. In terms of administering IP injections I learned how to angle the mice, how to hold the needle, and where to administer the injection. I used this training to administer LPS and to euthanize mice (with Euthanyl) as part of a study I contributed to during my work at the NISE lab.
