Animal Use Protocols must be submitted to the Office of Animal Ethics and Compliance (via Topaz) by the following deadlines:

Please note that original protocols are generally approved for 4 years and require that a renewal be submitted annually for each year that the protocol is active. Before the protocol expires at the end of its 4-year approval period, a (new) replacement protocol is required to continue the work. It is the responsibility of the Principal Investigator and/or their authorized delegates to submit annual renewals and replacements by the required date to remain in compliance with CCAC regulations. Courtesy reminders are generally sent from the Office of Animal Ethics & Compliance but research teams are encouraged to set their own calendar reminders.
