In the book, you will find eighteen articles from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, the United States, and Venezuela. The abstracts are translated into the four languages of the project, so that the reader can access the content of the papers in the language of his or her preference.

This publication is intended to be the first of a series of contents covered by the project "Access to Justice in the Americas," which also includes multicultural and inter-institutional activities to learn about initiatives to provide access to free, good quality justice for vulnerable people in different contexts.
Internationalization of Access to Justice
The project seeks to promote fair internationalization around access to justice’s issues by stimulating an intercultural and inter-institutional dialogue on different models and the problems concerning judicial politics in the Americas. It aims to promote meetings and publications focusing on local practices that can inspire other jurisdictions, thus building a valuable network. The content is based on concrete experiences, data, and public policies in order to overcome the dominance of traditional legal dogmatism.
The project's main supporters are: the Institute for Research on Human Rights’ Culture (CULTURADH-Mexico), the National Association of Public Defenders (ANADEP-Brazil), the Association of Public Defenders of the State of Rio de Janeiro (ADPERJ-Brazil), the Association of Public Defenders of Ceara (ADPEC-Brazil), the Inter American Association of Public Defenders (AIDEF), the Block of Official Public Defenders of Mercosur (BLODEPM), the Institute for Research, Rights and Social Movements (IPDMS-Brazil), the Joaquín Herrera Flores Institute — Latin America, the Accessing Law and Justice Project (ADAJ-Quebec), and the Human Rights Research and Education Centre of the University of Ottawa (HRREC).
The e-book was funded by the Justice Forum, a Brazilian organization devoted to promoting democracy in the justice system.
