The University of Ottawa invites applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Pediatric Health Services. The successful candidate will hold a clinical non-tenure track position with the Faculty of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, as well as affiliated hospital (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario), and its respective affiliated research institute (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute (CHEO-RI)). The Chairholder will hold or will be eligible to hold a license to practice medicine with the College of Physician and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
We are interested in attracting early-career candidates with a medical degree (MD) and demonstrated strengths in the field of pediatric health services research including, but not limited to: global child health and healthcare inequities, healthcare resources utilization, healthcare access for traditionally underserved populations, virtual and primary healthcare delivery models. Applicants will be expected to have evidence of research quality and productivity in the field as demonstrated through research funding and/or academic output.
The successful candidate will become an integral part of our dynamic and research-intensive environment with access to a broad network of research collaborators, state-of-the-art facilities and strong support from the University and its affiliated hospitals and research institutes, where Reimagined Healthcare Systems and Practice-changing Research have been identified as strategic priorities within our 'Health' research mandate. This environment encompasses the Faculty of Medicine’s clinical departments (e.g., Department of Pediatrics), as well as departments of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology (BMI), Cellular and Molecular Medicine (CMM), Innovation in Medical Education (DIME) and the Schools of Epidemiology and Public Heath (SEPH), and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS).
